2004 Audi S4 Cabriolet

Here comes summer! Now is the time to start looking for a convertible before prices go through the roof (ouch!) in a couple of months time. This is a 2004 manual silver example with only 31,000 miles on the clock. Click here for full details.

Future Classic!

Penned in the Early 90’s by Ian Callum, the DB7 is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful and charismatic of automotive designs. We’ve mentioned in a previous post the late appreciation of the DB7’s second cousin, the XK8, which now looks like it came from the same womb as a separated twin. It all makes perfect sense of course given that Callum had spent so much time in Ford’s maternity unit. It’s all in the genes as they say. The impressive part though is how Ford managed to fill the shoes of the AM V8 and the XJS with a pair of cars that moved the game on so well for their respective brands.

The Gransport is a modified version of the 4200 Coupé and Spyder that was first unveiled by Maserati at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show. So what’s the difference then? Well, it is equipped with specially designed aerodynamic body cladding, a huge chrome mesh grille, genuine carbon fibre interior trim, and special lightweight 19-inch wheels. It uses the ‘Skyhook’ active suspension, with a 10 mm lower ride height, and the Cambiocorsa (semi-auto) transmission is recalibrated for quicker shifts. The exhaust is also specially tuned to “growl” on start-up and full throttle. Trust me, all that definitely works.

I eat most things for breakfast!

A Very welcome addition to the fleet, the New BMW E60 M5.

This car has to be every Ferrari owners worst nightmare. You can imagine it now, the ‘Barbie and Ken’ couple in the Rosso Red F360 Spider, the lift of the sunglasses, that glance over the shoulder at the traffic lights…The recognition of those M5 side vents…That ‘oh no’ feeling kicks in…’I could be made to look seriously silly right now’. A competitor that really is a genuine wolf in sheeps clothing. A civilised understated executive hack, capable of over 205 Miles Per Hour and has recored figures as low as 4.1 seconds during its 0-60 mph sprints (Road & Track magazine ’06). With figures like these, things could indeed look bleak for Mr Ken.

A 911 by any other number…….

The 993 911 evolved from the 964 in the early 90’s and in a relatively short lifespan of only 5 years turned into the 996 which begat the 997.

Knowing your Porsche 911 is very much a numbers game and although ‘911’ was its given number at birth, it is the internal factory code that we mostly use to describe a particular model. Nothing wrong with that of course. There is probably no other car ever produced that is more referred to by its ‘undercover’ number than the iconic 911.
