Just as the print is drying on the last press release for the latest addition to the MINI range along comes another announcement from parent BMW for yet another MINI marvel.

This one however is a Limited Edition run of 2000 known as the John Cooper Works GP and was shown in public for the first time at Le Castellet in France during the MINI United Festival.

The JCW GP claims to be the most overtly sporting MINI ever produced to be sold to the general public – there have been of course some seriously mental MINI’s over the decades none of which would ever have been allowed on public roads. Today you can buy a particularly insane MINI from ZCars that will get you from 0-60 in 3.4 seconds but you really need a track for that little monster!

The new GP is no slouch though and it managed to scamper round the Nordschleife in a highly respectable 8 minutes 23 seconds. No specific power outputs have been revealed by the company yet but an exclusive powertrain and chassis are a major part of the design changes that make this MINI GP so special. Oh and it comes with the rear seat removed futher authenticating the seriousness of its race-track development programme.

Official pricing details have not been announced yet but it is quite likely that the GP will command a serious premium over the ‘standard’ JCW. Looking forward to driving one anyway!

Not your ordinary kind of taxi though because this one will take you round the Nürburgring Nordschleife quicker than a black cab can get you from Waterloo to the Embankment.

This is the log wheelbase XJ Supersport from Jaguar that is fitted with the Sport and Speed Pack options which removes the speed limiter to let the 510PS V8 stretch its legs to 174 mph (278.4 kph).

Jaguar’s ‘Nurburgring Taxi’ follows in the footsteps of BMW who’s M5 driven by a certain Ms Schmidt attracted a lot of attention to the fact that those who would rather be driven than drive the ‘Ring themselves could do so courtesy of a very experienced driver in a slightly modified road-car.

The XJ taxi which has been developed at Jaguar’s Nordschleife engineering test facility looks suitably sinister in its matt grey paint finish and the usual leather interior has made way for four snug-fitting racing seats with harnesses plus a roll-cage just in case things get a bit lairy on the track.

Driver – follow that M5 and don’t spare the horses!

TheCarSpy.Net are delighted to announce the availability of a few select examples of Aston Martin’s fantastic V8 Vantage with huge savings! Be quick because we expect these to go fast! All are UK cars and main dealer supplied…we are even able to supply a very few limited production N400 examples! The N400 was built to commemorate the company’s racing successes at the famous Nürburgring circuit. The car was also first unveiled at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show. The N400’s 4.3L V8 is tuned to produce 400 bhp, hence its coded name, and the car also features a sports pack which includes lightweight graphite-finished wheels, uprated springs and dampers and a new rear anti-roll bar. The N400 is available in three special paint colours; Storm Black, Lightning Silver and Karussell Orange (aptly named after the Karussell on the ‘ring’). Every N400 also comes with perforated leather trim, including a map of the Nürburgring stitched on the centre armrest, and a numbered plaque…in fact Aston Martin tested the car at the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit where it was able to complete a lap in under eight minutes. Fortunately the N400 is available in both Coupe and Roadster form, so at least those who like a bit of wind-in-hair action will be able to take up a fantastic opportunity too!
