Still brings on a sigh and jelly knees…Enzo Ferrari called the E-Type ‘the most beautiful car ever made’…enough said.

THE GOODWOOD REVIVAL HONOURS THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE JAGUAR E-TYPE WITH THE GREATEST RACE OF SIGNIFICANT COMPETITION EXAMPLES EVER ASSEMBLED

In just six weeks time, the finest collection of significant and authentic racing Jaguar E-types ever assembled will gather at the 2011 Goodwood Revival (16-18 September) for an exceptionalFordwater Trophy race.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the most iconic of British sport cars, as an exclusive race for 2011, Goodwood’s Fordwater Trophy will feature a grid exclusively made up of Jaguar E-types of a type that raced up to 1966.  The race will be a 45-minute two-driver race, with driver changes in the pits between 15 and 30 minutes.

The Fordwater Trophy will feature an extraordinary mix of historically-significant competition E-types, including six of the 12 lightweights still in existence racing, plus three more of the surviving cars present on static display.

With significant racing E-type low drag coupés, roadsters and fixed head coupés also competing, the race promises to make for an intriguing spectacle and a fitting tribute to Britain’s most popular sports car and its special relationship with Goodwood.

An exceptional line-up of top drivers will campaign the Jaguars, including ex-F1 stars Gerhard Berger, Jackie Oliver, Jochen Mass, Adrian Newey, Desiré Wilson and Tiff Needell, touring car legends Andy Priaulx, John Cleland and Anthony Reid, ex-Jaguar Le Mans winner Andy Wallace and actor and comedian Rowan Atkinson.

This 1987 928 S4 is fitted with Porsche’s gloriously smooth 320 BHP 5.0 litre V8, quad-cam engine coupled to the very rare 5-speed manual gearbox option. Only around 15% of all 928s had a manual gearbox and are highly sought after today.

This stunning early S4 has the lift-up spoiler and the rare option of a Limited Slip Differential. The car is finished in Rock Green metallic (looks like dark grey) with a beautiful mid green full leather interior. This stunning S4 has covered 114,000 miles with a full and comprehensive service history since new, detailed in the original Porsche pack along with all handbooks and spare keys.

In the last four thousand miles it has received much time, care and a large sum of money lavished on it to make it one of the nicest examples of a 928 available on the market today. The car received a documented windows-out full respray in 2008 at a cost of nearly £6500 and the paintwork remains in beautiful condition.

It also had a full top-end engine rebuild using rebuilt GTS cylinder heads and new cam chain tensioners, chains and a new water pump. A full brake rebuild by GT One costing £1500 was carried out one thousand miles ago and all worn or slightly marked exterior or interior trim items have been replaced with genuine Porsche items.

There are invoices for over £4000 alone for these parts including £500 for new windscreen wiper arms! All recent mechanical servicing and repairs have carried out by RGA Porsche and all bills are included in the file.

The specification of the car includes electric windows and sunroof, electric seats, air conditioning (not tested), and a CD player. The wheels are Porsche Cup items as are the mirrors.

This is a superb, powerful classic motor car that has had no expense spared to maintain its fine condition and is on sale at £SOLD

Finished in white with black upholstery, carpets and hood this very rare and particularly pretty 1956 Giulietta Spider is fitted with a 1290cc Veloce engine and five speed gearbox and twin Weber carburettors.

This delightful car was delivered new in November 1956 to Hoffmans in New York and returned to Europe in 1988. It received a full restoration between 1989 and 1995 in which, according to a listing in the file, every component was restored or replaced and which cost around £20,000.

This Alfa has not been used much in recent years and so is having a gentle re-commission in the workshop. It remains in excellent condition with some minor marks on the paintwork, some chrome deterioration on the grille and scuffed seat backs are the main areas requiring attention.

A special sports car which runs and drives beautifully. Can you imagine the reaction to this car when it was launched in the 1950’s? With such an advanced design it must have looked like a spaceship compared to similar cars of the time! Offered on sale at £27995.

P.S. Have you seen the BBC2 series ‘Two Greedy Italians’? Well the stars of the show are driving a simlar car on a gastronomic tour of Italy and the Alfa looks stunning in its own back yard! Check it out.
